Speakeasy is small family-run language school located in Chiswick, a lovely part of West London, not far from the city centre. We opened our doors to foreign students in September 2002. Since then we have taught English to thousands of foreign speakers from all over the world. We have been accredited by the British Council since 2009 and we were the first London-based Callan Method school to be accredited by the Callan Method Organisation. Our aim is and has always been to provide effective and good quality English courses at affordable prices in a warm and friendly environment. We offer General English (beginner to advanced levels), Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation courses to adult students (18+) from all over the world. We are open from 9.30am until 9.30pm; our average class size is 7-10 people, and all our teachers are British and fully qualified.

•What makes us different from other schools? Speakeasy School teaches General English using the Callan Method which works fast, is fun to use and has proven to be successful with any student, regardless of their age, nationality or learning ability. It was first developed by Mr Robin Callan in 1960, and is based on the Natural Approach. The Callan lessons are conducted at a very fast speed, which prevents boredom, makes each student concentrate, stops him from translating in his head, allows him to hear more words repeated more times, and makes it easier for him to understand English outside the classroom. The speed of our lessons also allows us to progress through the Stages of the method, taking you up to the level of the First Certificate Exam in less than a year. The lessons are taught through constant repetition and revision of grammatically correct sentences. By revising everything four, or five times, the Method ensures that the student remembers what he learns (usually for the rest of his life), no matter how poor his memory is.

- Services must be paid in full 7 days before the course starts in order to complete the enrolment and secure a place in the course and/or accommodation.
- Bookings are not transferable.
- Bank charges are payable by students
- Students must be 18 years of age or over

Cancellation policy

- The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person who booked the course.
- No course changes will be allowed to make up for refunds in the case of course cancellations.
- Where a cancellation is received 1 days after enrolment there will be no refund.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
- Accommodation booking fee is non-refundable.
- No refund will be made for shortening the course duration after the payment.
- There is no refund for any cancellation once the course has commenced.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.
- If a student is absent for one or more weeks at a time, arrangements can be made for the course duration to be extended at no extra cost.

Refund policy

- Bookings may be cancelled up to 1 weeks prior to commencement of the course without penalty or fee.

Visa refusal

- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge 10% course fees (subject to a minimum administration fee of £50) Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.
