AEPLE is an Association of private schools that teach Portuguese as a Foreign Language. The goal of AEPLE was to establish a network of schools that teach Portuguese as a Foreign Language, in Portugal and abroad, and represent them in national and international organizations.
AEPLE was legally created in October 1996 and becam a member of ELITE European Federation shortly after. ELITE (Excellent Language Institutions Teaching in Europe) was created in 1995 with the mission to promote the cultural interchange between european countries and promoting the education of native languages to foreigners with a high standard of professionalism. AEPLE’s member schools closely adhere to clearly defined conditions and criteria, enabling them to achieve standards of education and services that are necessary for a quality education. AEPLE makes sure that all the member schools accept the european standards of education, provide quality lodging and an enjoyable experience.
